In October I visited Alkborough Flats - a little nature reserve close to Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire to hopefully capture some images of Bearded Reedlings - scarce and shy little birds with a lot of character!

One very early morning in June I ventured to the east coast of Yorkshire to my favourite nature reserve…RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Here is a gallery of some of the wildlife seen during the sunrise - well worth getting there at 4am!

A local nature reserve to me, Rodley Nature reserve is a wetland habitat on the outskirts of Leeds. I spent a couple of hours there with my camera despite the rain showing that photography can still be achieved despite the weather!

During a short wildlife break to north Norfolk, I was only 20 minutes away from RSPB Titchwell Marsh, a nature reserve with varied habitats such as fresh water lagoons, saltmarshes, coastal and reedbed. A hive of insect activity in summer and an important breeding site for Avocet, Bittern and Bearded Tits…

One of the UK’s major wildlife spectacles occurs only a few times a year on the north Norfolk coast at Snettisham. Famed for its winter “Whirling Wader” spectaculars which only happen at super high tide events. I tried one of these dates in the summer as part of a wildlife weekend away!
